The Anchor Inn Hertiage Farm, including a large"kitchen garden", extends to about 100 acres and delivers a wealth of fresh produce to the Anchor's kitchen.

The chefs can often be seen in the "kitchen garden" collecting, picking, gathering and gaining inspiration for the menu. You may also see them stocking the Smoke House with all sorts of produce from fish and cheese to vegetables and game.

You are welcome to wander around the Heritage Farm to have a close look at the herb and vegetable production in the "kitchen garden" and see the livestock.

The Yew Tree

Originally the building was two dutch cottages dating back 400 years and built from the timbers of Dutch ships, before a replica of the original building replaced it. Standing on the old Roman Road that passed through the middle of Great Horkesley, the village fair used to be held on the forecourt of The Yew Tree.

In support of British farming community we use both farm assured and outdoor reared produce for a superior flavour and respect for animal welfare. All of our beef steaks are British origin and allowed to mature for 35 days to ensure their tenderness, succulence and fuller flavour.

Our menus have been prepared using the very best in British products. New specials are added daily by our Head Chef Rafal.
